Pöppelmann TEKU, a division of Pöppelmann, a family-owned Germany-based plastics converter, has built a strong reputation in the plant sector as a producer of plant pots and cultivation systems for the professional horticulture industry. The company has long been a manufacturer of what it calls Circular360 closed-loop plant pots - products made from PIR or PCR to conserve resources and contribute to a more sustainable horticultural sector.
The Circular 360 range has now been complemented with the Baseline series, a family of grey pots that can fully replace the currently used, unrecyclable, black sealing pots.
Made from 100% post-industrial and post-consumer recyclates, this new series has been certifoed by the Institut cyclos-HTP as 100 percent recyclable.
Their grey colour makes them easily sortable, allowing the material to be retained in the cycle. The Baseline technology will be expanded across other product ranges, as well, said Pöppelmann.
“European legislation will demand and promote the circular economy even more strongly […] so that the focus in Europe will be on recyclable products in the future. Pöppelmann has set itself ambitious goals: By 2025, all packaging produced in-house should be 100 percent recyclable,”said Sven Hoping, head of sales at Pöppelmann TEKU.
