You may not have noticed, but we’ve made some changes in the way we report the polymer prices on our site. Online – and we think they’re changes for the better. We hope you’ll agree!
The page now offers access to our newly launched interactive polymer prices database, which allows you to follow the ups and downs of resin prices in Europe online.
David Platt, correspondent for Sustainable Plastics, has been tracking polymer pricing for our plastics brands in Europe since 2005. He started with virgin resins, including different grades of polyethylene, plus polypropylene, PVC and polystyrene. In late 2021, he added coverage for recycled resins.
Yet while for years we’ve had excellent data and analysis, we perhaps haven't been doing a very good job of sharing it. We thought it was about time to remedy the situation.
For a primer, check out the column that David wrote explaining how he covers pricing. For those who prefer text over graphs, here’s also a page where we collect the latest news about polymer prices. That page is updated at least monthly.
Our polymer prices section is freely available to subscribers to Sustainable plastics. Have a look and let us know what you think!
